Islamic Center of Rochester was established in 1975. The Muslim population in the Greater Rochester area has grown from a few in the late 1960’s to many thousands today. The Islamic Center membership consists of Muslims born in the United States and those who have accepted Islam and the immigrants who come from most of the Muslim countries of the world. The present active membership of the Islamic Center exceeds 500 families.

Committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community, we strive to provide a welcoming space for worship, education, and community engagement. Our mission extends beyond the walls of our center as we actively work to contribute positively to the cultural and social fabric of Greater Rochester.

Things We Are Doing

At the Islamic Center of Rochester, we offer a range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. From financial assistance and funeral support to counseling, Nikah services, and daily prayers, we strive to create a supportive environment. Education is a priority, with weekly Halaqa sessions, Quranic reading classes, and programs for youth and adults. We actively engage in interfaith dialogue, support women’s initiatives, and extend our aid to the local and global community in times of crisis.
